Monkey Bars featured on NewsChannel5’ August 21st “Talk of the Town” episode by Lelan Statom and Cindy Chambers from Whole Foods Market.
Lelan says, “After a busy day at school it’s always nice to welcome home the kids with a snack. Cindy Chambers from Whole Foods Market is here with some afternoon snack ideas that are healthy easy to make, and for the kids, fun to eat. And one of the things we talk about is the healthy aspect of it, because it’s really easy for the kids to come home and you say, “here are some cookies, go grab the cookies or see the potato chips that will hold you over until dinner”. But we want to get healthier on that aspect!
Cindy goes on to talk about how one out of every 3 children born after the year 2000 are going to be diagnosed with diabetes, and that’s why Whole Foods has teamed up with various organizations to form a coalition to initiate lunchbox reform!
Lelan and Cindy talk about the various ideas to help improve those lunchboxes such as…. Monkey Bars!! Cindy goes on to say “the great thing about Monkey Bars is that it’s also good for Digestive Health, so it’s good for kids’ tummies!”
